Nakul Roy nominated for Bhasasahitya Samman 2010 By Our CorrespondentAgartala, Jul 26, 2010 : In a bid to promote literary activities among younger generation, the leading literary organisation of Tripura – Bhasa Trust (BT) has announced second Bhasasahitya Samman.
Addressing the media here BT Chairman Satyabrata Chakraborty said that the prominent poet, writer and a leading personality of little magazine movement of Northeast Nakul Roy had been nominated for the award.
He said Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar besides; literary personalities of India and Bangladesh would remain present in award giving ceremony on August 1 next.
“Poet Nakul Roy has immense contribution to development literary works and little magazines in entire region and his works are well recognised in North Bengal too since seventies,” Chakraborty said.
As part of the programme, there would be a seminar on ‘Literature and Contemporary age’ along with cultural programme on the occasion, Chakraborty said adding that they had planned to spread Bhasa activities in other parts of Northeast.
