Queen’s Baton to arrive Agartala on July 30

Agartala, Jul 26, 2010 : The stage is all set to receive Queen’s Baton 2010 Delhi here in Agartala on July 30 next. The state government has organized a mega programme on the occasion; said state’s sports minister Tapan Chakraborty here.

He said the postal department would be going to release a postal stamp of Rs 10 on the occasion of Queen Baton travel in India and this would be available in all post offices of Tripura soon.

The baton would reach Agartala by air on July 30 and Hero Honda personnel along with officials of Tripura Olympic Association would receive the baton at Airport. On July 31 there would be big rally in Agartala and few thousand of students and sports lovers would follow the baton.

Later at the evening, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar officially receives the baton in a small function at Nazrul Kalakhetra followed by a small cultural programme and the baton would be traveled back on August 1 next, Chakraborty said.
