Tripura signed MoU with UIDAI

Agartala, Jul 30, 2010 : Tripura has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) for implementation of Unique Identification project in the state. The project is aimed at ensuring delivery of benefits and services to bonafied beneficiaries.

Officials said that MoU was signed between Ms Divya Prasad, ADG, UIDAI and Anindya Bhattacharya, Joint Director Planning (P&C), Government of Tripura in New Delhi yesterday.

The UID was aimed to build in articulating national security and border control and the objective behind creating a national identity system. The UID project also envisages partnership approach to make certain public services available to the citizens of the country in a seamless manner.
